- [Paynesville Growth Area](https://salt3.com.au/projects/paynesville-growth-area/): In 2015 SALT prepared a precinct structure plan for Paynesville, Victoria\. This plan includes design of key road intersections and covers Paynesville’s ‘growth area’\. That is, an area that starts from the underdeveloped eastern edge of Paynesville\.

Our traffic management plan assesses current traffic impacts and projects future traffic volumes and patterns\. To test different growth scenarios, we used traffic generation surveys to develop and validate a traffic model of existing conditions\.

Preparation of the Paynesville structure plan also involved consultation, engagement and valuation of competing stakeholder objectives – such as those of developers and VicRoads\.

Using this feedback we developed a sustainable transport network plan that encourages pedestrian and bicycle travel\. We also helped cost these infrastructure improvements for a developer contribution scheme\.
- [Alira Berwick – Town Centre and Residential Development](https://salt3.com.au/projects/alira-berwick/): In 2017, the Traffic and Waste disciplines at SALT were engaged by ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects and the Oreana Group\. Our role was to assist in the design of the residential development and the Town Centre in line with the Council’s Precinct Structure Plan\.

The challenge was to resolve intersection design given increased traffic generation and provide strategic waste collection routes including common collection points throughout the town centre development site\.

Our recommendations will improve the manoeuvrability of the Alira community and it’s effectiveness and efficiency\.
- [AFL Parade Waste Management](https://salt3.com.au/projects/afl-parade-waste-management/): SALT was engaged to conduct a waste infrastructure capacity assessment at the AFL Grand Final Parade in 2019\. Our team developed a methodology to conduct a visual assessment of bins given the limitation of time and resources to conduct a detailed bin audit\. Our waste engineers were present throughout the event to monitor the capacity of all bin stations and assess the sufficiency of bin provision\. Upon completion of the event, SALT provided a post\-event report which comprised of a waste analysis and recommendations\.
- [Pran Central Waste Strategy](https://salt3.com.au/projects/pran-central-waste-strategy/): SALT’s waste team prepared a Waste Management Strategy for the Pran Central shopping centre and residential apartment complex at Melbourne’s Chapel Street\. The strategy identified a number of improvement opportunities to increase recovery of recyclable materials, improve onsite waste management practices and achieve savings by reducing waste to landfill\.
- [Woolworths and Woolworths Metro](https://salt3.com.au/projects/woolworths-and-woolworths-metro/): SALT has been engaged on numerous occasions by Woolworths to provide traffic and waste engineering advice\. Across our continued engagement SALT has assisted with the following:

Provision of risk assessment and mitigating factors for multiple Woolworths sites;
Due diligence assessments;
Design advice with regards to waste provisions, site layout and collection arrangements and preparation of a Waste Management Plan \(WMP\);
Car parking demand assessments and design advice with regards to car park layout and circulation;
Access to loading bays/zones for deliveries
Management of any conflicting movements between vehicles and pedestrians; and
Design of direct\-to\-boot grocery pick up arrangements\.

Working with a number of architects and other stakeholders in the projects, our team has been able to deliver well considered traffic and waste engineering solutions that have gained Council approval in many instances\. We look forward to building on our relationship with Woolworths moving forward\.
