SALT was engaged in 2021 to prepare a cost estimate for rehabilitation of the Bathurst landfill for a number of closure scenarios to assist Council with future landfill cost planning. SALT assessed the rehabilitation requirements and associated costs as well as ongoing post-closure aftercare management costs for the site. The project will enable Council to make informed decisions regarding the future of the landfill as well as ensuring financial provisions are made to manage the site into the future.
