Traffic modelling assists in the assessment of changes in traffic characteristics or road network arrangements at a particular location. This is particularly useful in determining the most suitable and cost-effective road network arrangements for a given traffic circumstance and whether an existing intersection or section of road network provides sufficient capacity to accommodate any future increase in traffic volumes.
SALT can analyse existing and proposed road networks and intersections from multiple adjoining sites to complex intersections. Analysis can be summarised to produce reports for submission to Local and State Road Authorities. Such analysis can also allow the determination of efficient phase and phase timing arrangements for traffic signal design, as required by state agencies
