The redevelopment will introduce 250 independent living units, 48 residential aged care beds, and 1780m2 of commercial spaces that will include restaurant, office, bar and retail spaces. SALT was engaged across 2018-2019 to provide advice regarding waste provisions, site layout and collection arrangements.

The SALT Waste Management Plan included a detailed assessment of demolition, construction and operational waste management requirements. Our team liaised extensively with the local Council to provide a feasible and compliant waste management strategy for the site while achieving efficiency both spatially and operationally.

Given the extensive site area and layout, a significant amount of manual labour and a large number of bins were initially envisioned. Our team worked closely with the project team to provide a solution that would reduce the need for manual transfers and maximise the efficiency of waste collections via the use of compactors.
