SALT was engaged in 2021 to prepare concept designs and documentation to support Central Goldfields Shire Council in their application for transfer station upgrade funding. Council was successful in seeking funding to upgrade three transfer stations at Talbot, Carisbrook and Dunolly to enable collections of separate glass, food organics and garden organics in accordance with new state policy on separation of waste streams. SALT assessed the infrastructure at each site and prepared conceptual designs for the extension of existing concrete hardstand and waste processing areas, installation of a solar-powered and automated compost monitoring system and new drop off areas for glass and organic waste.
