Client:
Deakin University

Project Status:
Complete

Deakin University RISE precinct at the Burwood Campus aims to provide world-class, highly adaptable and fit-for-purpose learning spaces which would be conducive for hosting multi-disciplinary classes.

SALT was engaged across 2019-2020 to provide waste engineering services for the precinct, which will introduce 17,052m2 teaching spaces, 3,316m2 office spaces and 685m2 café spaces throughout multiple buildings.

Our services included site assessments, data analysis and collation, stakeholder engagement, waste generation assessments, advising on best practice waste management strategies along with the provision of waste management plans for all new and redeveloped buildings within the precinct.

SALT worked alongside the university to ensure that the university’s sustainability visions, as stated in Deakin University 2019 Sustainability Report, would be realised by maximising diversion of resources from landfills and promoting a circular economy model.
