SALT was engaged in 2019 by the City of Maribyrnong to provide traffic consultancy for the streetscape improvements in Paisley Street, Footscray. The project involved the redesign of the entire length of Paisley Street to improve pedestrian amenity and better safety for cyclists. To do so, SALTs traffic engineering team and traffic design teams collaborated to produce a series of treatments including:

• Separated raised bicycle lanes;
• Intersection designs (Functional layout plans and concept designs);
• SIDRA modelling; and
• Swept path assessment for key design vehicles (Such as buses and trucks)

In addition to the above, SALT prepared detailed signage and line-marking plans to facilitate safety and amenity of proposed design solutions.
