SALT was engaged by the City of Greater Dandenong in late 2016 to provide ongoing traffic engineering consultation to facilitate the vision of Springvale Boulevard. The objectives of this project included:

• All day signalised pedestrian activation;
• Raised pedestrian crossing facilities;
• Road Treatments to improve safety and user experience including:
  • Narrowing treatments;
  • Speed limit reduction;
  • Significant improvements along the northern and southern alignments on Springvale Road including Springvale Railway and bus routes.
• Bicycle facilities;

During this process SALT undertook detailed traffic modelling using SIDRA software at key intersections to analyse both current and future traffic flows through the area. Approval was gained from VicRoads to move forward with the above alterations, improving the safety and amenity of Springvale Boulevard.
