SALT was engaged by Studio 35 Architecture in 2018 to provide traffic and waste engineering services for the development of a service centre. Included within the development was facilities for the provision of petrol, LPG and diesel fuel sales and a fast-food outlet.
A particular challenge for this site was the design of the accessway given its proximity to an existing freeway on and off ramp. SALTs traffic engineering team prepared design advice, particularly with regards to the circulation of fuel tankers, in communication with the project architects and developed a Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) Report to accompany the planning submission. Within this TIA Report SALT provided justification for a reduction in the Planning Scheme car parking requirement to ensure our client was able to optimally utilise the available space.
SALT was also responsible for the preparation of a Waste Management Plan (WMP) to outline best practice operational characteristics and identify suitable waste bin size, type and collection methods.
