The Role:

SALT is currently looking for an experienced traffic engineer with minimum 2 years’ experience to join our Adelaide team.

We are seeking an engineer with experience from a consulting or local government background who are looking to take that next step in their career journey. You will be given the opportunity to grow and develop your abilities under the mentorship of our SA leader and the SALT leadership team. The ideal candidate will be a driven individual, excited by the prospect of being part of the growth and success story of a modern, progressive company.

The position includes the following activities:

  • Preparation and delivery of traffic engineering and transport planning reports, including traffic impact assessments to support development applications
  • Complete site inspections, traffic surveys, investigations and feasibility studies, completed concept designs for traffic projects
  • Collating and analysing traffic and parking data
  • Traffic modelling using SIDRA Intersection software
  • Participate in road safety audits
  • Undertake an analysis of traffic flows and assessment of mitigation measures
  • Produce calculations, specifications and drawings to ensure that technical designs provide appropriate solutions
  • Managing priorities and workloads to deliver on time and budget
  • Assist with communication and develop ongoing contacts with clients as required

About You:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience, preferably a background in consulting/transport engineering
  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in working in a team and multi‐disciplinary environment
  • Current Australian driver’s licence.

The following experience is highly desirable but not essential:

  • SIDRA modelling
  • Consulting experience
  • AutoCAD and AutoTURN.
