SALT has been engaged for the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) Woden Campus development since 2022 and we are thrilled that it officially opened on Monday 21st July 2025.
Our expertise on this project supports the ACT Government (Infrastructure Canberra) and Lendlease in delivering one of the most significant infrastructure developments in Canberra’s southern hub.
As part of this transformative investment under the ACT Government’s $14 billion Infrastructure Plan, the new 22,500 sqm CIT Campus achieves a 6 Star Green Star Sustainability Rating.
Collaborative study spaces, green space, end-of-trip facilities, improved access to Woden public transport interchange, enhanced educational opportunities and more are provided at the campus, a significant contribution to Woden Town Centre revitalisation.
SALT has delivered traffic engineering on the CIT project across the following:
- Transport Reporting
- Sustainable Transport Planning
- Road Safety Auditing
- Traffic Engineering Design and Swept Path Analysis
- Temporary Bus interchange Design
- Main Bus Interchange design, including linemarking and signage, traffic signal plans, pedestrian operated signal design
- Light Rail future proofing
- Car parking design and bicycle design advice
The project focuses on ensuring the campus is accessible, safe, and aligned with long-term sustainability and transport objectives. SALT has contributed for several years on a project that will leave a lasting positive impact in the Australian Capital Territory.
