SALT has been engaged to provide waste engineering services for the proposed mixed use development which involves the development of over 500 apartments and 800m2 of commercial space. SALT’s proposed waste management strategy aligned with Mirvac’s commitment to achieve zero waste by 2030 by ensuring separation of waste and recyclables at source and hence maximising diversion of these resources from landfill.
The site provided its unique challenges given the limited height clearance available within the waste collection areas hence SALT provided alternative solutions to maximise efficiency in waste collections and waste transfer.
Our services included waste generation analysis, waste layout and design advice, analysis of collection routes, advice regarding waste management equipment such as compactors and organics dehydrators, and the provision of innovative waste engineering solutions.
