SALT was engaged from 2018 for several years by ARA Australia to provide ongoing traffic and waste consulting for the major upgrade of Southgate. This included a new high rise office tower, significant changes to the public realm and new food/retail tenancies.
SALT’s involvement  included:

• Parking and loading design (including truck lifts);
• Pedestrian and bicycle movement enhancements (including shared zones); and
• Precinct integration with all modes of travel including to and from St Kilda Road and City Road.

As part of our services, SALT undertook a detailed pedestrian and cyclist movement study which included numerous surveys at key locations within the vicinity of Southgate. The aim of this study was to understand key pedestrian and cyclist routes within the immediate precinct to best integrate travel modes for the redevelopment.
