In 2015 SALT was engaged to provide traffic engineering expertise for the four-storey hospital expansion above the Catherine McAuley Centre in Melbourne’s west. The project includes 64 inpatient beds, 6 operating theatres, a sterile supply department, a new multi-level car park and the introduction of an automated parking system.

SALT has provided technical services to facilitate the development, including solutions for internal circulation, back of house and loading dock improvements, multi-level car park design, parking demand management, strategic future road access planning and automated parking design.

Working with the Department of Health and Human Services and other members of the project team, we have also consulted with Wyndham City Council, VicRoads, Victorian Planning Authority and the CFA to ensure the expansion can best service as many hospital staff, patients and visitors as possible.
