With an uncompromising commitment to customer satisfaction and service, you will be an experienced candidate (minimum 3 years experience) who will manage several projects simultaneously.  You will oversee and prepare reports and liaise with local government, state government and the private sector. You will also co-ordinate fee proposals and tenders for both government and private sector projects.

The type of work you will project manage/undertake will include:

  • Waste Management Plans
  • Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) Reports 
  • Council waste management guidelines and strategies 
  • Small to large strategic projects, such as Waste Management feasibility studies, master planning and business cases
  • Operational waste management reviews for commercial developments
  • Environmental Impact Assessments 

You will join our close-knit team environment at our Queen Street Melbourne office (7-minute walk from Flinders Street station). 

Requirements

  • Consulting experience in Victoria 
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience 
  • Values exceptional client service above all and has an unwavering ability to deliver
  • Technical experience in waste management 
  • An understanding of the Victorian development/planning processes and preferably NSW
  • Proven project management experience
  • Ability to develop relationships and identify new business opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Mentoring capabilities 
  • Experience in preparing environmental impact assessments for a wide range of development projects is preferred

 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage small to large projects from beginning to end
  • Propose waste and ESD solutions to address and prevent negative environmental impacts 
  • Implement policies and propose design measures in designated parks and other areas to conserve and protect natural and cultural heritage
  • Participate in the planning of new developments and sites by providing relevant information and recommendations to minimise impacts on plants and wildlife
  • Advise on best practice waste management and ESD requirements/operations to guide the design and/or modification of developments 
  • Prepare reports for planning application submissions including Waste Management Plans and Sustainable Management Plans
  • Build a strong profile internally and establish/maintain relationships with current and prospective clients
  • Advise clients on commercially sound, cost effective and innovative contemporary solutions  
  • Ensure regular communication with clients 
  • Mentor and train junior staff members

Tertiary Qualifications

Minimum requirement is a bachelor degree in environmental engineering or science

Salary will be commensurate based on experience and skill level
